Friday Favourites – 13th May 2016 -

Featured

Ooh! It’s Friday the 13th and seeing as I haven’t shared a Friday Favourites with you since….February…March? I have no idea. Anyway, I thought I would share not only my favourites from the week but my favourites from the past month or two.

1. Lego Minifigs…

My brother has collected lego minifigs for quite a long time and for about the same time; I’ve been in receipt of any duplicates or ones he doesn’t want. Lego minifigs are in blind bags but I’ve mastered giving them a good feel and picking the ones I want. Last week though following two night shifts, I wandered out in the rain in my PJ’s to Jordan in the car following a telephone conversation in which he had woken me up earlier than I wanted but redeemed himself when he said he had ‘bought me pressie’s’. I was so excited to see Disney Lego Minifig packets! I’m sure he would like to say he had a good feel to find Minnie and the alien (best two from the set if you ask me) but he did have some help from our friend who works at Smyths Toys….thanks Terri!

2. Harry Potter Studio Tour

Finally, finally, finally! I visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour a couple of weekends ago and it surely did not disappoint. It’s as amazing as I thought it would be but I really want to go again so I feel less rushed and I can take it all in as there is so much to see. The best part of it was the model of Hogwarts which was really beautiful. Oh by the way… Jordan and I have the ELDER WAND!

3. De-tangling jewellery

Mama Haynes and I have developed a rather unhealthy hobby…de-tangling jewellery which has been purchased in large bags from Newlife. I say unhealthy because it often ends up in us saying ‘ughhhh’ and slamming the jewellery down but it is still soo much fun and rather addictive. We are almost there with de-tangling the latest three bags I bought but a hell of a lot of them needed fixing this time and I’m making my way through them.

4. Liverpool trip…but what’s with the locks?

Jordan and I had an overnight stay in Liverpool back in April and we had a wander around the docks which looks as though it’s had a bit of a make-over. Not that I’ve been there before…it just looked new. I loved having a nosey and I think the weather which was very unlike our typical-english-crappy-weather helped. I do have one question though…why at every opportunity in the world have people hung these locks?

Apparently (according to Wikipedia…yeah look at the level of research I did for this post!) the idea of popping a lock somewhere romantic and throwing away the key has been a tradition for over a 100 years but I probably only heard about it about 6 years ago when it was plastered all over the news that Paris authorities were freaking out over their bridge which was so covered in locks it was sinking. Since then, I’ve spotted them all over the place in really random areas in the UK but Liverpool docks is full to the brim. And I personally think they look ugly….soz. There’s actually an online UK firm that just makes Love Locks…ingenious!

5.Get Weird

Jordan and I weren’t just in Liverpool for the hell of it. For Christmas, he bought me a ticket to see Little Mix on tour. It was a great night even if we were surrounded by screaming little girls! As you can see we had great seats 🙂
